THE NEW COVENANT

The High Priest of a New Covenant

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek Hebrew 6:19-20

Since as we were made to be the priests of the new covenant it is very importance to know the principles of priest hood knowing all what it takes to be intercessors of the world, being behind the curtain of prayer is a very interesting thing and has some certain principles to follow. Firstly Jesus came to give himself as scarifies for all. Since we know the old time tabernacles where a priest has to enter the most holy place once a year and plead the blood of animals, first for himself because of sins and secondly for the whole congregation. It is very important to know these principles because we have to go according to what Christ taught us and we will not suffer in our prayers, because since we have receive Christ it shows us that we have the zeal to follow him on every thing we do.

First covenant

“Now the first covenant had regulations for worship and also an earthly sanctuary. A tabernacle was set up. In its first room were the lampstand, the table and the consecrated bread; this was called the Holy Place. Behind the second curtain was a room called the Most Holy Place, which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron's staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant” Hebrews 9:1-4

This is very interesting, when you read this scripture you see the order of the first convent that was made during the time of Aaron, this is where the orders of the first covenant were made and implication of what use to happen in the tabernacle of an old time, by that time Men were called as high priests because of their exceeding faith and good works they were to teach the commandments through righteousness they were sanctified and enter into the rest of the Lord. If you look at the first convent it was to for the regulation of worship and earthly sanctuary, meaning any time a priest enter the most holy place was to worship Yahweh, meaning they were to bow down before the lord and give glory to him and prays His holy name, the other thing was to regulate earthly sanctuary, A sanctuary is the consecrated area of a church or temple around its tabernacle or altar. Meaning they were to make sure that there is holiness in church and in earth, for Yahweh to be well pleased with their land. This shows us that God is well pleased with the holy things, because every time a priest enters the holy place the must be a blood of an animal to wash away their sins, very interesting. This was a short over view of old kind of entering into the holy place of Yahweh. When everything had been arranged like this, the priests entered regularly into the outer room to carry on their ministry. 7But only the high priest entered the inner room, and that only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance. 8The Holy Spirit was showing by this that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tabernacle was still standing. Hebrews 9:6-8 This was the first covenant that was made by God to His priests.

The covenant made by Yahweh trough the blood of his son

“For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God's presence. Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own” Hebrews 9:24-25
As we have knowledge that Jesus, as a high priest is standing for us in the heavenly places before Yahweh. “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them” Hebrews 8:25. He is always interceding for them that love God and the world to change the wickedness and have knowledge of Him who died on the cross. Jesus is being classified under the priest hood of Melchizedek because of his offering to Yahweh trough his body. It is the fact that if Jesus were not to come and make covenant with yawed for us to be saved we were going to use animals blood to be redeemed, but by his blood we all received salvation and his blood is for ever having the value and quality, Jesus gave his whole body for all and to become an ever lasting priest.“During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek” Hebrew 5: 7-10
So it is the time for the intercessors on earth we stand be hind the first curtain of prayer as our lord Jesus is standing for us on the second curtain, which is the holiest place where God is busy interceding for us, it is the responsibility of an intercessor to pray always and make sure the earth live holy life before Yahweh. Know that when the world is sinning their sins go to Yahweh as incense and imagine if you smell smoothing stinking how will you feel, but the is still a blood that which is an ever lasting blood. “Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.” Hebrews 10:19-22
Most people lack the knowledge of intercessory ministry, but let me tell you that it is not by might nor by power, but by His spirit, where one has to understand that is not all people who have theall gifts in other categories in the body of Christ, but to intercede is for every body who received Christ as his Lord. Unlike unbelievers, for a man who have attain the knowledge of Christ and knowing his word that kind of a person his prayer avails much in the peoples life. It has been discussed on the next chapters that what how do we make our prayer request to Yahweh.
