PRAYER SCHOOL

[A] INTRODUCTION

1. No christian can rises higher than their prayer life
2. A church that doesn't pray binds God
3. To pray is to change
4. Prayer is the most powerful thing in the world(James 5:16)
5. To enroll for the school of prayer, simply start praying

[B] YOU MUST LEARN TO PRAY CORRECTLY

1. Different prayers has different rules

The bible shows us when and where to pray different prayers. The new covenant of grace was brought with death, burial and ressurection of Jesus and under His new covenant came new rules for prayer. When we use the name of Jesu in prayer, we enforce His victory in our lives and allow the kindom of God to advance on earth.

2. Different types of prayers has different purposes(Eph 6:18)

The bible emphasizes the following types of prayers

1. Prayer of faith
2. Prayer of consecration
3. Prayer of agreement
4. Prayer of binding and loosing
5. Prayer of commitment
6. Prayer of spirit
7. Prayer of intercession

3. The disciple 's prayer(matt 6:9, Luke 14:1-4)

The disciple 's prayer incorrectly called the Lord 's prayer. Jesus did not pray for this, but was rather teach His desciples the different elements of prayers, namely praise, expection, trust, petition, confession, inward strength and so on.

4. The Lord 's prayer(john 17:1-26)

In this message, we have the true Lord 's prayer. An antimacy of the relationship between Himself and God.

5. Why do we pray?

. To fellowship with our heavenly Father.
. To establish God 's will here on earth(Eph 6:10-19, john 6:63)

6. There are four different kinds of people

. Those who approach God not as a free men, but as slaves would, cringing before a taskmaster
. Those who approach God a a person would hi bank manager
. The person who approach God as a son of his father

[C] SOME RELIGIOUS NO-NO'S

1. Repitition(matt 6:7)
2. Praying to be seen by men(matt 6:6)
3. Pleading the blood to out demons
4. Praying to marry and the saints
5. Praying for the revival without actions

[D] KEYS TO THE EFFECTIVE PRAYER LIFE

1. Pray to the father in Jesus 's name(john 16:23-24)

. The name of Jesus provides the access to the heart of the father
. The name of Jesusunlocks the blessings of heaven
. Jesus gives us the right and the authority to use His name

2. Forgive when you pray

. Forgiveness is an important pre-request to prayer
. Watch your inward man with all diligence
. How do we forgive? make the decision to forgive, pray for them and change your thinking about them

3. Your relationship with your spouse(1peter 3: 1-7)

. Husband vs 7. Man if your prayers are not answerwed check your relationship with your wife.
. Wives vs 1-6. Wives should submit and respect their husbands in order to find respect and favour from God.

4. Praying for results

. Praying is of utmost important
. Christianity is a special living relationship with the living God who hears and answers prayers
. Avoid just praying words

5. Avoid repetitious prayer

It is the prayer of faith that God hears

6. Private prayer(matt 6:7)

Puplic prayer is vatal to the church, family prayer for the family, but private prayer is for individuls
. Enter your room or any private place. You must'nt pray to be seen

7. Understanding the basic elements of a prayer-filled life(Luke 11:2-4)

Jesus taught the desciples the basic of prayer
. Knowing God as the father"our father who art in heaven"
. An attitude of praise"hollowed be thy name"
. Put God first in your life"thy kindom come"
. Humbleness"thy will be done"
. We learn to ask"give us this day"
. Confession"forgive us our sins"
. Forgiveness"as we forgive those who trespasses against us"
. Deliverance"lead us not in to temptations"
. Inward strength"but deliver us from the evil"

[E] THE PRAYER OF FAITH(1john 5:14-15)

. Decide what you want from God(james 1:6-8)
. Read scriptures that promises your answers(john 15:7)
. Ask God what you want
. Believe that you have recieved them
. Refuse to doubt
. Meditate on the promise
. Give God all the praises

[F] THE PRAYER OF CONSECRATION

1. The key to this prayer is"if it is your will"

. You pray this prayer when you consecrate your life e.g. when you go in the ministry on full time basis
. You need to know where God want to place you, we concecrate outlives for God to lead us where He want us to be.

[G] THE PRAYER OF AGREEMENT

. There is power in agreement
. This is the prayer of faith
. There is no distance with the prayer of agreement

[I] THE PRAYER OF BINDING AND LOOSING(matt 181:18)

God has called us the body of Christ to rule and reign in the midst of our enemies. Jesus has given us authority in His name, therefore we don't our fellow men but we bind the enemy and evil spirits. We can however loose our fellow men

. Satan is our enemy(peter 5:8-9)
. We don't wrestle against the flesh and blood
. Our warfare is spiritually(Eph 6:12)
. Demon can inhabit the nation(Dan 10:12-20)
. Learn to discern demonic activities
. Give no place for the devil
. Remrmber that Satan's target is your mind
. Exercise the authority that God gives you

[I] THE PRAYER OF COMMITMENT

. In deversity we don't worry, worrying is to meditate in your problems
. Cast your cares un to the Lord
. Have the correct attitude

[J] THE PRAYER OF THE SPIRIT

. Praying in tongues(1 cor 14;2;4-18)
. Speaking secret to God
. Praying in the spirit is refreshing
. Speaking in tongues edifies you
. Interpreting your prayer in the spirit

[K] PRAYER OF INTERCESSION

. Standing in the gap
. Inter-between
. Cession-collides, you must be a bold person

[L] CONCLUSSION

The holy-spirit is a gentleman, He will not force you. But you have to respond to the spirit of God
